Cheshire Stair Renovation
We recently had the absolute privilege of transforming this tired old staircase and transforming it into a stunning focal point of this impressive family home in Cheshire. The existing bland staircase had very little character and wasn’t doing the justice that this beautiful home deserved.
We initially gave a quote via email to our clients who had sent over a few photographs of their existing staircase via our website with a brief description of a design they had seen. Once happy with the quote they were then happy to proceed with the works and we arranged a home visit. Our surveyor and designer met with Mr and Mrs Barrow showing them our different profiles and designs of staircase which they concluded that Oak and Glass would be the best option for them. The oak would match their internal oak doors which they had just fitted, and the glass would open up the elegant hallway and landing area allowing more natural light to flow through.
Under Stairs Storage Unit
Most houses don’t properly utilise the space underneath their staircase but in this case Mr and Mrs Barrow wanted to make the absolute most of it. With having 3 children and Mr Barrow having an impressive trainer collection it was clear they needed a place to neatly store them efficiently but out of sight. After discussing different designs and options they chose to have 2 heavy-duty pull-out drawer units. With the bottom smaller unit being ideal to store shoes and handbags and then the larger unit is a perfect place to hide the vacuum amongst other things. All our understairs storage systems are handcrafted in our workshop so we can custom build any shape or size to perfectly suit your staircase.
Bespoke Wine Cupboard
Once we had discussed everything regarding the Staircase Renovation, our clients asked if there was anything we could do with the under stairs area which would be practical yet in keeping with the staircase and house. We took all of their ideas on board, as they insisted they needed a place to store their shoes and the vacuum, but also loved the idea of having a bespoke wine cupboard which could be seen but not easily accessible to their young children.
Our design team came up with this design which met every need of our client and as you can see in the photos we manufactured and installed a bespoke wine rack with led lighting which doesn’t just add the perfect ambience at night when guests are round it’s also practical when preparing drinks. But for me what makes this wine cupboard stand out is the purpose-built toughened glass door which is not just a lovely feature but also keeps the little ones from getting in.
